Yashika Khatri

Hello everyone! I’m Yashika Khatri, and I’m excited to share my journey with you—from my roots in India to my recent move to the United States. My educational journey began at Aria College of Engineering and Research Centre in Jaipur, where I graduated between 2015 and 2019. After completing my degree, I joined Consultadd in 2019. Over the past 5.5 years, I had the opportunity to work on various projects, including a significant two-year stint in DevOps. Consultadd not only provided me with a solid foundation in my field but also offered me a nurturing environment where I felt appreciated and valued. Recently, I took a significant step in my career by joining Capital One in New Jersey.

I’m excited to be part of a new team that comprises four out of five members from Consultadd, which has made the transition smoother. Two months ago, I made the bold move to the United States, initially settling in Texas for a month before relocating to New Jersey. This transition is a realization of my dream to work in New York City, which has always been an aspiration of mine. Adapting to a fast-paced, walkable environment in Jersey City has been exhilarating but also a challenge. The cultural differences are striking, and I’m embracing every moment of this adventure.

Moving to a new country comes with its challenges. One of my initial struggles was adjusting my diet after recently becoming a vegetarian. Navigating the food scene has been an adventure in itself! Additionally, I’ve faced difficulties finding affordable housing in Jersey City. With prices around $2,500 for a studio apartment, the search has been daunting.

I’m also adjusting to a more independent lifestyle. Cooking my meals, waking up early, and commuting to the office have all been significant changes. While it’s been challenging, I believe that stepping out of my comfort zone is essential for personal growth. As I settle into my new role at Capital One, I’m excited about the future. I dream of visiting Hawaii and exploring more of the diverse states in the US. Embracing this new chapter of my life, I look forward to discovering all that New Jersey and New York have to offer.
